Summer is full of sun, sand and fun, and we Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach locals at Seafood House Calabash Buffet know where to direct families for nearby Fourth of July celebrations that are exciting, memorable and low-cost. If you’re visiting after the Fourth, you’ll be happy to know the fireworks continue all summer!

Fireworks and Fourth of July:

1 p.m. on Thursday, July 4: For a thrilling salute to our independence, head to the beach for Salute from the Shore, a flyover of F-16s from the 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in South Carolina. The timeline has it starting at Cherry Grove up by the NC/SC state line at 1 p.m. and ending at 1:25 p.m. down at the SC/GA state line near Bluffton.

6-10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4: Surfside Beach 4th of July Celebration at the intersection of Surfside Drive and Ocean Boulevard. Enjoy live entertainment and family fun.

10 p.m. Tuesdays through August; 10 p.m. Fridays through Aug. 16; and 10 p.m. on the Fourth of July: Head to Myrtle Beach’s shopping/dining/entertainment complex called Broadway at the Beach, located off U.S. 17 Bypass between 21st and 29th Avenues North. The fireworks are best seen over Lake Broadway.

10 p.m. Wednesdays through the summer: Second Avenue Pier, Myrtle Beach. This is located at 2nd Ave. South and Ocean Boulevard. Pull up a piece of beach, relax and enjoy the show!

After home games: The local Cubs baseball affiliate, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, has a beautiful stadium off 21st Avenue N. in Myrtle Beach, and after home games fireworks light up the field. Those dates in 2019 are: July 3, 7, 11, 13, 14, 20, 21; and August 1, 8, 10, 11, 17, 18.
